‘Clean list’ for Bacolod fuel subsidy almost ready

• THERESA MAE DULMAN

Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya said on Monday that the first batch of the ‘clean list’ of fuel subsidy beneficiaries is expected to be released this week, signaling the start of payouts for the local transport sector.

The initial batch, provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), includes approximately 2,000 validated names out of the over 10,000 drivers that registered for the program.

The list has undergone a deduplication process to ensure accuracy and prevent multiple claims.

Once the verified list is finalized, the DSWD is expected to begin the payout process for the identified beneficiaries.

The subsidy program covers public utility jeepneys (PUJs), taxis, and TNVS (Transport Network Vehicle Service). Following the release of the first batch, additional lists will be published as soon as the DSWD clears the remaining names for subsequent payouts.

Gasataya confirmed that unconsolidated jeepney drivers are included in the submitted list.

The inclusion follows a commitment made during previous transport protests and was finalized in a submission signed by the mayor and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board NIR Regional Director Gerry Llena.*
