A resolution enjoining punong barangays and barangay officials to maintain the cleanliness of public spaces during Holy Week, was recently approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod.
Authored by Councilor Em Ang, the resolution said the City of Bacolod is hosting various Holy Week-related activities participated by local residents and visitors.
It is the duty of every citizen to maintain cleanliness and respect for public spaces, it said.
Barangay leaders play a crucial role in promoting a clean and respectful environment, the resolution said.
The local government recognizes Holy Week as a significant time for prayer, reflection, and unity, and urges everyone to treat it as such, going beyond mere observance of a holiday, it said.
The local government aims to uphold the dignity of the season while keeping the community clean, safe, and orderly through collective observance of guidelines, the resolution said.*
