In response to a video of a woman giving birth beside the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) that was posted on social media by a concerned citizen on October 23, the hospital clarified that the woman was immediately brought inside the hospital upon their discovery.
A statement from the hospital dated October 24 said that both the mother and the baby were now safe under their care.
“The patient was promptly brought into the hospital for appropriate medical care. Both mother and baby are now under close monitoring and are in stable condition under the care of our medical team,” the statement said.
Contrary to the public perception on social media that the hospital did not respond to the patient during the delivery, the hospital commended their staff for a “swift and compassionate response”.
“CLMMRH commends the swift, compassionate, and professional response of its personnel, whose presence of mind ensured the safety and welfare of both mother and child,” it added, citing that their personnel rescued the patient on time.
The hospital did not provide other personal information about the patient and her family for their privacy and security.*
