The national government is putting up a multi-purpose building within the compound of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), Bacolod City, to provide the watchers of patients admitted in the facility a place to stay, Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya said yesterday.
Gasataya said the project will be constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in coordination with CLMMRH medical center chief ll, Dr. Julius Drilon.
The building will be utilized by the watchers since their concern is that they have no area to stay, he said.
“Although the city government and other cities have rented an area for them, however, we deemed it necessary that there should be a permanent structure to be constructed by the national government for the purpose,” Gasataya said.
There is an allocated funding of about P8 million for the construction of the project which he hopes will be started early 2023 after the bidding is scheduled, he said.
Gasataya said this will address the need of the watchers. But they will have an option whether they want to stay in the structures being rented by the local government and other cities, or in the multi-purpose building to be constructed by the national government.*
