The City Legal Office (CLO) Enforcement Unit demolished three roadside stalls located on the sidewalk of Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City, on Monday, February 16.
The clearing operation is part of the city government’s ongoing effort to reclaim public spaces and ensure pedestrian safety.
Enforcement team leader Levy Pangue said that the affected vendors were issued self-demolition notices prior.
He emphasized that sidewalks are strictly for public use and should remain free of any permanent or temporary structures that obstruct the flow of foot traffic.
He added that these stalls have occupied the area for decades and offered no resistance during the clearing.
According to Pangue, the CLO has several more scheduled clearing operations across various locations in Bacolod to address similar violations.*
