CLO investigating illegal dumping video at Punta Taytay shoreline

The Bacolod City Legal Office is set to take action regarding a person who was caught on video allegedly dumping garbage along the shoreline of a beach resort in Barangay Punta Taytay, Bacolod City on May 24, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office said.

According to Bacolod City Legal Officer Karol Joseph Chiu, the individual involved, as well as the owner of the resort, will be invited for a dialogue as part of the city government’s investigation into possible violations of existing laws and local ordinances.

“Since the video is already on social media and has reached the attention of our local government, our office will conduct an investigation on the matter,” Chiu said.

The City Legal Office emphasized that the investigation aims to determine accountability and ensure proper enforcement of environmental regulations and waste management policies.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod City government continues to encourage the public to help authorities by reporting incidents of illegal dumping and other environmental violations in their respective communities so that appropriate actions can immediately be taken.*
