Coast Guard joins Coastal Clean Up Day

Participants of the International Costal Clean-Up Day in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City Saturday, spearheaded by the Philippine Coast Guard.*

The Philippine Coast Guard conducted its annual coastal clean-up activity in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City Saturday in line with the International Coastal Clean-Up Day in the Philippines.

The activity was held in collaboration with the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary of Bacolod City headed by Director Auxiliary Squadron (DAS) Commodore Dannyl Yap; 32nd Civil Military Operation (Peacemaker) Company of the Philippine Army headed by Cpt. Brier Jaryon Tejado; 303rd Infantry Brigade; 605th CDC; the Barangay 1 Council, as well as the different Bacolod City Lions Club, particularly the Bacolod City Anchors Club headed by club president Lion Dannyl Yap.

The participants included personnel of the Coast Guard Station-Northern Negros Occidental (CGS NNOC); MEP Group-NNOC; 618th Squadron Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary -Bacolod City; Bacolod City Sampaguita Lions Club headed by president Lion Josephine Hilado; Bacolod City Sugarlandia Lions Club headed by club president Lion Noel Angeles;

Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara headed by past president Rolando Corona also donated 250 cuttings of mangrove; Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. headed by Remyr Astillero; BREDCO headed by port manager Josephine Solis; Phoenix Petroleum Bacolod; Petron/PTSI; 32nd CMO (peacemaker) Company of the Philippine Army headed by Capt. Brier Jarton Tejado; 605th CDC Philippine Army; Bacolod Tugboat Services Corp.; Brgy. Alalahoy residents and the 107th Squadron PCGA Las Piñas, Metro Manila represented by Roxanne Sharon Samillano.

The participants were able to collect about 500 sacks of waste materials as the clean-up drive aims to promote and unite countries and people with one common objective which is to take care of the environment by maintaining the cleanliness of our shorelines, rivers, lakes, and other waterways.*
