
In the game between Vitamilk and Cobra Energy Drink, the latter team started well, holding the lead for first two quarters, outscoring Vitamilk 17-16 and 21-20, respectively, to lead by 2 points shortly after the half, despite the hot hands of Michael Ang who dropped three 3’s in the first quarter alone.
Vitamilk came out with a different attitude in the second half, where all five players contributed in the third, outscoring the Cobras 24-13. Ben Buñol then took over, scoring 12 points in the fourth to give Vitamilk the win with a final score of 74-63.
Ben Buñol led Vitamilk, accruing 28 points along with player of the game honors, followed by Macoy Reyes with 10, while Leonard Kilayko collected 9 points. Nike Montalvo paced Cobra Energy Drink with 16 points, Michael Ang tallied 12, while Joshua Vidal had 9 points.
In the second game between Asahi and Pascual Greek Style, the former got out to a strong start and led, 23-17, after one quarter. The Greeks came out better in the second and were able to take the lead by a point as the game went into halftime with a score of 53-52.
The Asahi responded with a 32-25 run in the third quarter to flip the game entirely. They held a 6-point lead going into the final 10 minutes of the game which inflated to 13 points after outscoring the Greeks again by a margin of 25-18 by the time the final buzzer ended, with the final score of 110-97.
Kim Dimaranan led Asahi with 24 points and player of the game honors. Kevin Ramos followed with 19 points, while Albert Magdato and Polo Lopingco added 18 and 16 points respectively. Meanwhile, Miguel Mosquera led Pascual Greek Style with 21 points, followed by Ojay Gumbao’s 18 points and Michael Calibo scored 16 points.*
