Six visual artists in Bacolod City have collaborated to create large pieces of artworks in a group exhibit titled “3×3=4” that opened at the Art Association of Bacolod- Negros art gallery at the Art District in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City.
The show opened February 23 and will run until March 10.
One of the collaborative artworks measuring 5×8 feet was done by Leah Samson, Fred Orig and Dennis Valenciano. It shows a scene from Victorias City during its market day and is aptly titled “Market Place”.
Another piece from the three artists bears the name, “New Beginning”, depicting a rural scene showing farmers prepare rice paddies for planting season. It measures 5×7.5 feet.
A collaboration among artists Maymay Camarines, Ryn Paul Ginzales and Vicky Gaspar produced a 4.8×8 feet artwork titled, “Doctress of Manara”. The piece is a tribute to all volunteers and frontliners who render selfless services to remote and rural areas.
Samson, president of AAB-N, said the gallery features new art exhibits every three weeks.
The club is also preparing a general exhibit featuring the works of its members for its 46th anniversary on July 4.*
