Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued Executive Order No. 26 organizing the support committees for the 124th Philippine Independence Day Celebration, the Charter Day Celebration of Bacolod City, and Rizal Day.
City Administrator Edward Joseph Cuansing said the support committees will handle all three events which fall under the “Adlaw sg Paghanduraw”.
Cuansing said a mass will be held at the Bacolod City Government Center lobby on June 17, while a program will be held during the Charter Day on June 18 where outstanding tax payers of the city will be awarded.
They will also give plaques or awards to outstanding government employees during the Charter Day program, he said.
The Rizal Day will be held on June 19 at the Rizal Elementary School in cooperation with the Department of Education and Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), Cuansing said.
Councilor Renecito Novero will be the master of ceremony during the 124th Philippine Independence Day celebration at the Bacolod City Public Plaza on June 12, he added.
Under E.O. No. 26, the support committees created to undertake the planning, organizing and implementation of the programs for the three events will be chaired by Leonardia and co-chaired by City Tourism Officer Ma. Theresa Manalili.
The Secretariat Committee will be headed by Marivic Canada as chairperson; Programs and Events Committee – Johanna Bayoneta; Awards and Citations Committee – Councilor Renecito Novero as chairperson and Arlene Memoria as co-chairperson; Invitation, Protocol, Food and Reception – Edwina Javier; Finance Committee – Maria Imelda Williams; Engineering, Design and Physical Arrangement – Amy Tentia.*
