
The Rotary Club of Bacolod, in partnership with Almana Cares Foundation, Aldrtz Corporation, YouLink Community Channel, and Universal Robina Corporation, initiated its first-ever community pantry at Jose R. Torres Elementary School in Brgy. Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City Saturday.
The distribution of grocery and health packs was led by volunteers from the event organizers, and witnessed by Life Changing president Pauline Cuaycong, past president and Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, past district governor Edgar Sy, club secretary Frederick Anthony de Leon, club officers and members, and barangay officials, a press release from the Rotary said.
About 2,000 residents benefitted from the bayanihan program.
Minimum health protocols, such as wearing of face masks and face shields, body temperature check, provision of alcohol, and social distancing were also observed during the activity, the press release added.*
