“O-plan: One time, big time”, a comprehensive plan to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Negros Occidental is set to be launched, former Rep. Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez said yesterday.

Benitez, Negros Occidental consultant on economic affairs, said a press conference will be held this week to announce the action plan on the three Ts – test, trace, and treat.

“It’s a comprehensive provincewide plan,” he said, adding that he will work on convincing Bacolod City to join the plan.

Benitez said he is calling Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia today to discuss the plan.

Benitez said a regular online briefing on the COVID-19 situation in Negros Occidental is also being planned.

Meanwhile, the Peace and Order Council yesterday passed a resolution requesting Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases Chief Implementer, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., to allow the Negros Occidental provincial government to extend the use of schools as quarantine venues until December.*
