The president of the Alliance of Concerned Consumers In Electricity and Social Services (ACCESS) strongly believes that consumer empowerment and social progress can be achieved in solidarity.
ACCESS president Wennie Sancho said that as the holiday season illuminates in Negros Island Region, the Negros Power and its valued consumers stands united, forging an unbreakable bond to achieve the ambitious 5-year Development Plan. This collective vision embodies the bayanihan spirit, fueling progress and empowering communities.
Negros Power and ACCESS come together with a common goal, united in quest for reliable and efficient electricity, he said.
“In this holiday season, we celebrate more than just a tradition, we celebrate the spirit of partnership and collaboration,” he added.
Sancho noted that there is an implied shared commitment between Negros Power and ACCESS. While Negros Power is dedicated to delivering uninterrupted power supply, ensuring that families and communities enjoy uninterrupted moments of joy, through continuous infrastructure upgrades and proactive maintenance work, the electricity workers of Negros Power, continue to exert their tireless efforts.
Consumers in turn, play a vital role in this partnership by practicing energy conservation, reporting outages promptly and engaging in open communication. Together, we foster a culture of understanding and cooperation, a bond of trust shall develop between the Negros Power and its consumers that would result to a united and brighter Negros, he said.
With this noble motive, Sancho said, “we would not only be lighting homes but we are also lighting hearts by considering Negros Power as our partner in brighter holidays, so that the spirit of Christmas shall be illuminating for all of us, hoping and empowering dreams for a brighter tomorrow.
ACCESS data evaluation conducted by the Consumers Information Network (CIN), a research arm of Power Watch/ACCESS, shows that there was a noticeable improvement on the performance metrics of the Negros Power, particularly on the tracking of outage frequency, by analyzing data in its response time in measuring time-to-respond to consumer’s inquiries and the evaluation of resolution effectiveness, he said.
As we celebrate the Christmas season, Negros Power and ACCESS celebrate progress through collaboration, empowering the communities and the consumers for a bright tomorrow without losing their independence and character as a DU and a consumer organization, respectively, Sancho said.
Unity between Negros Power and ACCESS sparks progress for a united and brighter Negros Island Region (NIR), the statement added.*
