The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) dealt a significant blow to the illegal drug trade with the arrest of two suspects and seizure of an estimated P714,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation late Thursday night.
The successful operation was carried out at approximately 9:37 p.m. in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, Bacolod City.
According to the initial report, the suspects were identified as ‘Irene’, female; and ‘Roy’, male, both residents of Barangay 2.
The operation led to the confiscation of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a total weight of more or less 105 grams.
The suspects are now facing serious charges in connection with the confiscated drugs, with alias ‘Irene’ being arrested for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. These sections cover the sale and possession of dangerous drugs.
Meanwhile, alias ‘Roy’ was apprehended for violating Sections 26 and 11 of the same act, which pertains to the attempt or conspiracy to commit drug trading and the possession of dangerous drugs.
Both suspects are currently under police custody and will be formally charged in court.
