The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director PCol. Joeresty Coronica said that a bank reportedly requested a fee of P2,000 to allow police access and extraction of CCTV footage related to a murder case.
The police sought the video evidence from the bank premises as part of their ongoing probe into the case involving 17-year-old Freya Mae Go, who was murdered last October.
Coronica said that out of 44 requested establishments, only 22 provided a copy of CCTV footage to the police.
He added that they are still in the process of case build up together with the city prosecutor.
“What we hope for is cooperation, as there is no better investigation without cooperation from them. The purpose is for investigation,” he said.
The Special Investigation Task Group, who handles the case, remains with six persons of interest.
Last October 22, Go’s body was found hogtied in the Reclamation Area of Barangay 12, Bacolod City.
The autopsy revealed she was strangled and semen was found in her private parts.
Despite the P100,000 reward offered by the city for someone who can provide credible information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects, witnesses have yet to surface.*
