Operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office seized P234,000 worth of suspected shabu in two drug-buy bust operations in barangays Alijis and Singcang-Airport Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Station 8 policemen arrested Eugene Pillada, 39, of Brgy. 20 in Bacolod City at Bag-ong Dalan in Brgy. Singcang Wednesday, and seized seven big plastic sachets of suspected shabu from him.

Pillada was arrested after he received the P2,000 in marked money from a police poseur buyer. The suspected shabu weighed about 30.5 grams and worth P207,000, the police said.

P/Major Joerey Puerto, chief of Police Station 9, said Pillada is considered a street level pusher and was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in 2010 but his case was dismissed.

Puerto said they conducted a two-week surveillance on Pillada on information that he returned to the illegal drug trade after his release from the Muntinlupa National penitentiary last year.

On Tuesday, Station 7 policemen arrested a cell phone technician and a teenager in a drug buy-bust operation in Brgy. Alijis at about 6 p.m.

P/Lt. Michael Tuburan, Station 7 commander, identified those arrested as Jose Paulo Tenio, 39, of Brgy. Alijis, and Reymark Costan, 19, of Brgy. Handumanan.

Tuburan said they recovered two big plastic sachets of suspected shabu, valued at P34,000, and P300 in marked money from Tenio, a street-level peddler, who owns a cell phone repair shop.

Guns with ammunition and suspected shabu were also seized by the police from five drug suspects in a series of buy-bust operations and the implementation of a search warrant in Negros Occidental on Feb. 24.

Joint operations of the local police and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 led to the arrest of Ruben Capunong during the implementation of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 in Sitio Onion, Brgy. Camugao, Kabankalan City.

Seized during the implementation of the search warrant issued by Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Judge Rodney Magbanua, were about two grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P13,600, and a .38 caliber revolver with four live ammunition.

A buy-bust operation in Purok Biante Village, Brgy. Miranda, Pontevedra, also led to the apprehension Dionaldo Ticson, alias Bay, and the recovery of 0.5 gram of suspected shabu, worth P3,250, P500 in marked money, and an improvised .38 caliber revolver with four ammunition.

Another drug suspect, identified as Gudofredo dela Cerna, was apprehended by the police, also in a buy-bust operation at Hacienda Nahulog, Brgy. 1-A in Manapla, Negros Occidental.

The operation yielded P2,500 worth of suspected shabu, and P500 in marked money.

About six grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P40,800, P3,500 in marked money and P50 in cash were also recovered by the police during the buy-bust operation at Gomez Street in Brgy. 2, Silay City, that led to the apprehension of a certain Joemari Bass. Another buy-bust operation in Brgy. Salvacion, Murcia, also led to the arrest of Jobert Yonson, and the recovery of P1,700 worth of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money, a Swiss knife, a Nokia cellular phone, and P580 in cash, the police said.*
