A 50-year-old dentist and three other drug suspects were arrested by the police in separate buy-bust operations Sunday and yesterday in the cities of Silay, Talisay and Escalante, Negros Occidental.
Two drug suspects identified as Cristopher Lapore and Ma. Lenora Pelaez, both included in the police drug watch list, were apprehended yesterday by the police during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Estaca, Brgy. Lantad, Silay City.
The arrest of Lapore and Pelaez yielded about seven grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P47,600, P500 in marked money, P328 in cash, a cellular phone and other items.
A joint buy-bust operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the local police in Brgy. Zone 12, Talisay City, Sunday led to the arrest of dentist Michael Ordinario, 50 and a resident of the place.
A report of the PDEA said that the arrest of Ordinario yielded about five grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P35,000 and its paraphernalia, a cellular phone, 1,200 in buy-bust money.
A drug suspect identified as Marvin Balajadia was also apprehended by the police in another buy-bust operation also on Sunday at Pag-asa Homes in Brgy. Jonob-Jonob, Escalante City.
The arrest of Balajadia, 40, yielded seven sachets of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money.
Ten violators, including a minor, were also apprehended by the police on Sunday in the cities of Sagay and Silay and in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, for illegal cockfighting.
The separate raids yielded nine fighting cocks, P1,000 in cash bets, three gaffs and seven motorcycles, police said.*GPB
