The Pontevedra Municipality Police Station conducted a manhunt operation on Thursday at Hacienda Merced Dela Paz in Barangay Don Salvador Benedicto, resulting in the apprehension of the top 3 most wanted person in Negros Occidental.
According to Police Captain Darryl Kuhutan of Pontevedra MPS, the apprehended suspect was also recognized to be the second most wanted at the municipal level and has an existing warrant of arrest issued on Wednesday by the Regional Trial Court.
The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Adrian Llanera, a resident of the barangay. He was arrested for qualified rape by sexual assault and in violation of RA 8353, also known as the anti-rape law.
The arrested most wanted person was informed of his constitutional rights and is currently detained at Pontevedra MPS for proper disposition.
Moreover, on Wednesday two most wanted persons in the Negros Island Region were apprehended by the Police Regional Office.
The top catch was identified as McJhonill Alabado, 30, and a resident of Barangay Balicotoc in the town of Ilog. He was nabbed by the Ilog Municipal Police Station by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the RTC Branch 61 in Kabankalan City.
Alabado was considered to be the fifth most wanted person in the region, who allegedly raped three of his nieces, aged 7 to 9 years old. He will be facing eight counts of qualified rape through sexual assault with no bail.
Furthermore, the seventh most wanted person was nabbed in Pontevedra, identified as Gregorio Bulacan Jr., 44, and a resident of Barangay I, Poblacion in the town.
Bulacan was arrested for the service of sentence after his probation for a drug conviction was cancelled, as the police monitored his continuous illegal drug activities.*
