The mobility of the 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company got a boost after it received financial support yesterday from the La Castellana municipal government and businessman Frankie Uy.

Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan and Uy turned over P280,000 in cash assistance to Lt. Col. Ariel Artillero, 2nd NOPMFC commander, for the purchase of an engine for their patrol vehicle and motorcycle repairs.

Of the financial assistance, P180,000 came from the municipal government of La Castellana and P100,000 from Uy.

The 2nd NOPMFC is operating in the 5th and 6th districts of Negros Occidental, including the town of La Castellana and neighboring areas.

Mangilimutan, a former police officer, said that the stable peace and order in La Castellana played a vital role in the improvement of the economy of the town.

Artillero said the support will further enhance the delivery of public safety services in the town and neighboring places.*
