Operatives from the Regional Intelligence Division of the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region, in coordination with Bacolod City Police Office Station 8, successfully served a search warrant at Barangay Singcang-Airport yesterday, April 5.
The operation at the corner of L.T. Vista and Lacson Street led to the arrest of one suspect and the recovery of an unlicensed Colt caliber .45 pistol without a serial number and a magazine assembly loaded with five rounds.
A cache of ammunition was also discovered at the scene, including 78 rounds for 9mm, 49 rounds for caliber .38, 11 rounds for caliber .45, and a single round for a .357 revolver.
The search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Bacolod City, was executed with compliance to Supreme Court guidelines under A.M. No. 21-06-08-SC.
The suspect and the confiscated evidence are now in the custody of the RID office for proper disposition and the filing of charges under Republic Act 10591.
