The arrest of five drug suspects in separate buy bust operations during the weekend in Negros Occidental yielded more than P1 million worth of suspected shabu, police reported.
Operatives of Police Station 5 arrested Mariane Gumban, 25, during a buy bust operation at almost midnight of July 10 in Bangga Bagol, Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City.
Led by PCapt. John Christopher Masangkay, Police Station 5 chief, an estimated 75 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P510,000 and P200 in marked money were confiscated from Gumban, disclosed by PLt. Liberty Indiape, deputy spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office.
Operatives of the BCPO Drug Enforcement Unit also apprehended earlier Cyril Gepielago, Julius Londres and Pearly Mae Panes in another buy bust operation at Purok Kapawa, Brgy. Punta Taytay, also in Bacolod City.
The buy bust operation also yielded about 77 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P523,600, marked money of P1,000 and P200 in cash believed to be proceeds from sale of illegal drugs, police said.
The apprehension of Kenneth Clanog on July 9 at Zone 6, Brgy. Concepcion, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, also led to the confiscation of three grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P20,400, cash money of P461 and P500 in marked money, as well as shabu paraphernalia, police said.*
