While the demand for COVID-19 vaccination remains low, Provincial Inter Agency Task Force action officer Rayfrando Diaz yesterday said inoculation is still ongoing in Negros Occidental.

Diaz said that there are still local government units getting vaccines from the Provincial Health Office.

While the provincial government of Negros Occidental did not reach the target set by the national government on numbers of vaccinated individuals, he said they are still exerting efforts to push for it.

Diaz also said that they do not have expired COVID-19 vaccines, as it is returned to the national government.

The Bakunahang Bayan campaign of the Department of Health has been set from December 5 to 7, targeting 5 to 11 years old for the primary two doses and ages 12 to 17 for first booster, as well as 18 and above.

Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. has issued an executive order to ramp up COVID-19 vaccination efforts for “Pinaslakas” vaccination campaign on Dec. 5 to 7 in Cadiz City.

As of Nov. 22, Negros Occidental logged 287 COVID 19 active cases, with nine deaths for the month.*
