There are 22 more locally stranded individuals in Negros Occidental and two Bacolod residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, the Department of Health in Western Visayas reported yesterday.
The two new COVID-19 positive cases in Bacolod City are a 21-year-old female office worker and a 32-year-old male non medical health care worker, Dr. Grace Tan, Bacolod Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19 spokesperson, said.
Bacolod Patient No. 94, who is a 21-year-old pregnant office worker, is a close contact of Bacolod Patient No. 62, who is a 30-year-old female health worker who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier.
Patient No. 94 who was coughing and suffering from difficulty of breathing was admitted at a hospital on July 5, was swabbed on July 7 for a COVID-19 test, and was transferred to a quarantine facility after she was discharged on July 13. She is in stable condition, Tan said.
Bacolod Patient No. 95 manifested COVID-19 symptoms on July 17, and was admitted at a hospital where he is in stable condition, she added.
Meanwhile, of the 22 new COVID-19 positive LSIs in Negros Occidental, Bago City, Kabankalan City and Himamaylan City have three each, Sipalay City, Manapla and Calatrava – two each, and Talisay City, Silay City, San Carlos, Murcia, Valladolid, Pontevedra, and Binalbagan – one each, the DOH said.
The DOH also reported that 18 COVID-19 positive patients in Negros Occidental, and one in Bacolod City have recovered.
Cauayan had the most recoveries at four, followed by Himamaylan City with three, Murcia, Victorias City, Sagay City and Manapla – two each, and Hinigaran, Silay City and Sipalay City – one each, the DOH said.
Seventeen are LSIs and one is an overseas Filipino worker.
Negros Occidental now has 327 COVID-19 positive cases, while Bacolod City has 95, the DOH said.*
