Members of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, who have fully recovered from COVID-19, took turns in donating blood plasma for the pandemic victims, deputy provincial police spokesman PLt. Wilma Silva yesterday said.
This is in line with the partnership between NOCPPO and Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital under the program “Plasma Mo, Armas Ko Batuk sa COVID-19”, that was launched Sept. 26 at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City
Silva said that all the 14 police personnel and Non-Uniformed Personnel of NOCPPO who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 and are now fully recovered, joined the program.
She added that 12 fully recovered PNP personnel donated their plasma in response to the call of the DOH and Provincial Health Office-Negros Occidental. This will be a great help for the convalescent plasma therapy of the severely infected COVID -19 patient, Silva said.
Col. Romy Palgue, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, lauded the plasma donors.
In the midst of the pandemic, Palgue also assured Negrenses that the PNP and other government agencies will never pause for a rest and are ready to respond to the call to fight COVID-19.*
