The Department of Agriculture turned over farm implements, worth P5 million, to the Binuligay Farmers Association in Brgy. Salong, Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental Wednesday.
The implements include four units of mechanical rice planter with trailers, one 4-wheel drive tractor, a big harvester with trailer, two mechanical tillers, and two hand tractors, a press release from the city said.
The project is under the Philippine Mechanization Program, Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund of the DA, and is expected to benefit 300 farmers.
Mayor Pedro Zayco and Vice Mayor Raul Rivera led the Kabankalan City officials during the turnover ceremony, the press release added.*
