The Visayan DAILY STAR was among the 174 private and government institutions in Negros Occidental given tribute by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) at the 2nd Pasidungog event at the Santa Maria Ballroom of Radisson Blu Hotel, Cebu City Saturday.
A total of 1,019 private individuals, business and government institutions, people’s organizations, as well as local government units all over the country attended the event to receive the award from Vice President Sara Duterte.
The Pasidungog is a celebration that honors and recognizes partners who have been instrumental in supporting the operations of the OVP. This event highlights their valuable contributions and acknowledges the significant impact they have made in expanding the scope and enhancing the socio-economic programs of the office.
During her speech, Duterte said the “OVP empowers people to empower communities. Empowered communities build a strong, powerful and stable nation.”
The Vice President also delivered her accomplishment report covering May 2023 to April 2024 during the event.
Aside from The Visayan DAILY STAR, other media institutions who were recipients of the 2024 Pasidungog award were Sun.Star Bacolod, Bombo Radyo Bacolod, Negros Now Daily/Negos Weekly, RMN-DYHB, Aksyon Radyo Bacolod, and DYRL Bacolod, among others.*
