About 20 traffic enforcers of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will be showing their dancing prowess while performing traffic signaling duties during the pre-qualification round for the Dancing Traffic Enforcers Challenge on October 5 along Lacson Street- BS Aquino Drive, Bacolod City, a press release from the Citizens Traffic and Roadwatch Group said.

BTAO head Police Major Junji Liba listed the contestants as the official entries for the pre-qualification round at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Organized by event creator Toots Jimenez Jr. as BTAO’s participation in the Balik Yuhum MassKara Festival 2022, the qualified entries will perform in a 4-day performance on October 7, 11, 13, 17 and the finals on the 19th.

From among the entries, four will be selected as semifinalists and the final round of the best two will compete for the championship round.

“We created this event in 2014 and 2015 and was tagged by the Department of Tourism as a Road Tourism attraction. We are bringing this back again under the administration of Mayor Albee Benitez,” said Jimenez, who is also the founding chair of the Citizens Traffic and RoadWatch Group.

Liba will invite the mayor to witness this BTAO partnering project.*
