Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman joined the inauguration of the project “Improvement of Recreational Trail in the Province of Negros Occidental” at the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City, on April 7.
The upgrading and redevelopment of the trail within the Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary intends to enhance visitor experience by improving pathways, installing directional, regulatory, and information signages, establishing rest areas, and integrating educational features to promote the area’s ecosystem.
This project, amounting to over P10 million, is funded under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF)-Green Green Green Program, which is designed to support beneficiary provinces, cities, and municipalities in promoting green public spaces and other infrastructure projects that foster wellness and active mobility.
Pangandaman stressed that this project is a testimony to the commitment of the government, under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., to promoting a livable environment for all while ensuring responsible development and sustainable ecotourism.
“Sa pamamagitan po ng proyektong ito, may maayos na pathways at rest areas para sa mas maaliwalas at kaaya-ayang trail experience sa mga bumibista habang natututo sila ukol sa environmental awareness (Through this project, there will be pathways and rest areas for a more convenient and pleasing trail experience for visitors while learning more about environmental awareness),” she said.
The official also assured the public that the DBM is an ally in protecting and preserving Mambukal Wildlife Sanctuary, a source of pride for the Negrense people, according to a statement issued by Philippine Information Agency.*
