Roel Ragay Degamo is back as governor of Negros Oriental, yesterday assuming office at the Provincial Capitol in Dumaguete City.
The time for celebration is over, now is the time of action, Degamo, who yesterday met with Provincial Capitol employees said, adding that he will also start implementing his plan for stronger, more united Negros Oriental.
Prior reporting to his office, a thanksgiving caravan was held in Dumaguete City on October 15 to mark the return of Degamo to the Negros Oriental Provincial Capitol.
Pryde Henry Teves voluntarily stepped down as governor of Negros Oriental on Oct. 11, allowing a peaceful transfer of the province’s leadership to Degamo.
Albeit the start of term is a little delayed due to the electoral fraud I had to beat, as I come back, with new and stronger outlook, Degamo said in his social media account.
I am enthusiastic to be of service once again, and happily assure that the people of Negros Oriental is in good hands under my administrative care, he added.
Degamo also explained that the caravan was held to inform residents of Negros Oriental that he assumed office as governor of the province.
Those who voted me or not, I will serve all of you, Degamo said.
He also thanked the mayors and his supporters who joined the thanksgiving parade.
“This fight is not for myself but for the people of Negros Oriental,” Degamo said as he also warned those engaged in illegal activities.
Now that I am back, please expect good governance, he added.*
