The delay in the release of salaries of 447 Isabela municipal job order employees has finally come to an end.
Mayor Irene Montilla yesterday said that the 447 job order casuals of Isabela municipal government have already been paid of their salaries covering the period from October 16 to November 30.
This was after the Sangguniang Bayan finally approved her request for an authority to augment the number of job order casuals hired by the municipal government, Montilla said.
Vice Mayor Renato Malabor Jr, who is challenging Montilla in the Isabela mayoralty race, and his allies in the municipal council, had sought the list of Job Order employees and their contracts prior to the approval of a supplemental budget that includes the budget for salaries of hired workers.
But Montilla said that there are still many of her requests, pending for approval by the Sangguniang Bayan, including payables and augmentation for fuel, as well as the Annual Investment Plans, among others.
The delay, she added, has crippled the delivery of basic services to Isabeleños.*
