The Bacolod City Health Office is intensifying its campaign against dengue due to the increasing number of cases in the city, which is about 212.7 percent compared to the previous year with a total of nine deaths.
The latest victim is a 69-year-old male from Brgy. Taculing.
Brgys. Taculing and Mansilingan have now two recorded deaths each followed by Singcang, Pahanocoy, Sum-ag, Tangub and Granada with one recorded death each.
The total reported dengue cases in Bacolod City as of July 30 is 491 with nine deaths, compared to the total number of cases covering the same period last year which was 157 with 2 deaths.
The barangays with the greatest number of cases are Mansilingan with 56 cases, followed by Taculing – 38, Estefania – 37, Tangub – 36, Singcang – 34, Villamonte – 31, Alijis and Sum ag – 29 each, Mandalagan and Cabug – 24 each, Handumanan – 20 and Granada – 18.*
