Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson turned over checks, worth a total of P38,350,000, to the Department of Education Division of Negros Occidental, the Negros Occ. High School, and Negros Occ. National Science High School for the implementation of Special Education Fund projects in public schools in the province.
The checks were received by district supervisors under DepEd-Division of Negros Occidental and other school beneficiaries, at the turnover ceremony held at the Capitol grounds in Bacolod City yesterday morning.
The district schools of Moises Padilla, Salvador Benedicto, San Enrique, Murcia, Pontevedra, EB Magalona, Valladolid, Toboso, Hinigaran, and Ilog received P3 million each for their priority projects, the NOHS received P5 million in subsidy for its operations, including small infra projects and payment for utilities, security, and non-teaching personnel, while the NONSHS received P3,350,000 for school operations and projects, a press release from the Capitol said.
Present at the turnover ceremony were Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, DepEd–Negros Occidental Schools Division superintendent, Marsette Sabbaluca, assistant schools division superintendents Lynee Penaflor and Sally Senayo, NOHS principal Mario Amaca, and NOSNHS-Victorias Campus principal Emma Dequito, among others, the press release added.*
