The Department of Education in Negros Island Region got its first regional director in the person of Ramir Uytico, also the outgoing regional director of DepEd Western Visayas.
Anthony Liobet, presently the Schools Division Superintendent of Negros Occidental, was also designated as the officer-in-charge Assistant Regional Director for DepEd NIR, according to Hernani Escullar, spokesperson of the DepEd Western VIsayas.
Escullar also said that the post of OIC regional director for DepEd in Western VIsayas, vacated by Uytico, will be taken over by Cristito Eco, assistant regional director for DepEd National Capital Region.
Escullar said the Liobet will still continue to head the DepEd in Negros Occidental in a concurrent capacity.
He added that they are preparing for the transfer of leadership of the concerned DepEd officials.
The DepEd regional office is located in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
A Facebook post of the DepEd Western Visayas regional office congratulated Uytico and Liobet for their new appointments.
