The first-ever festival dedicated entirely for desserts, Big Bite: Sweet Surprises, will be held at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central, featuring the biggest gathering of Negros desserts, a press release from the organizers said.
Big Bite is a major event implemented across all Ayala Malls, celebrating the best culinary and gastronomic staples per region. It features events geared towards the promotion of local delicacies through satellite selling, increased awareness about food production through talks and workshops, inclusivity in food tourism by encouraging student participation in event, and building bigger networks for local food businesses.
The event will run from July 21-23, at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central Activity Center. Activities include pastry and dessert exhibits, an inter-school bake off, workshops for kids and adults, a Baking 101 talk, and a cake decor competition. It will also feature a meet and greet with guest celebrity Karla Estrada on the 23rd.
Big Bite aims to elevate the exposure of Negrense dessert and culinary businesses to Bacolodnons, mallgoers, and tourists. It also makes room for innovation of existing delicacies, a grander scale of food tourism, and the strengthening of Negros Occidental’s positioning as the “Sweet Capital” of the Philippines, the press release added.*
