Thirty-two Negrense artists are holding an ongoing group art exhibition which opened on July 27 and will run for a month, at Lyrnx Lyrix Restobar at 17th-Lacson Streets, Bacolod City.

Guests of honor at the opening of the show titled “Detachment” were Negros Occidental Historical Council chairman Solomon Locsin and Negrense visual artist Joe Geraldo.

“Detachment is the process of separation from worldly bias or prejudice. Like simply observing clouds that are passing through the sky; they come and go without you needing to do anything. Ironically, we have to be detached in a certain unit in order for us to do our calling our mission through art- to express our own personal narratives and hopefully, inspire our audience,” the artists’ statement said.
