A two-man art exhibition featuring the works of two digital and traditional artists opened at Gallery G at Villa Geronca building, Rosario-Amapola streets, Bacolod City Saturday, and is slated to run until August 20.

Titled “Life Line”, the exhibit showcases the works of Mike Borromeo and Gerald Limson. Guest of honor at the opening was Jinky Besa.

Borromeo is a digital artist with a passion for visual arts and game design. Currently, he holds the position of senior artist for Concept and Environment Design at Holysoft Studios Inc., a game development company in Bacolod City.

Through his work in the game design field, he has not only honed his skills but also gained invaluable insights and logistical support that empower him to pursue his visual art with renewed passion and determination.

By combining his expertise in digital artistry with his explorations in traditional mediums, Borromeo continues to push the boundaries of his creativity, constantly evolving and refining his artistic style.

He ventures in both traditional and digital arts and explores the varying relationship of these two disciplines and their respective techniques of application.

Limson’s traditional artworks are most noted for its intricate detail of pen and ink application. His figure drawings continue to signify his explorations on this traditional form, marking its equal importance to his current digital art practice.

He also currently works at Holy-Soft Studios as a digital painter, illustrator, and asset generator for games.

“This art exhibition beautifully merges two worlds, showcasing the unique perspectives of two artists from different generations. Through our parallel transformation and growth, we artfully reflect on our personal views and experiences encompassing childhood memories, relationships, growing pains, belief systems, and inspirations, the artists’ statement said.

“Life, with all its intricacies, is filled with stories waiting to be told. In this exhibition, we have chosen pen and ink as our main medium, drawing upon our strengths and skill sets. This choice represents not only our artistic prowess but also our discipline and patience in crafting meaningful art. By expressing our narratives in black and white, we invite the audience to delve into the raw emotions and essence of our stories,” it added.*
