The Diocese of Bacolod concluded its celebration of the Jubilee Year 2025 with a Eucharistic celebration presided by Bishop Patricio Buzon at the San Sebastian Cathedral, Bacolod City yesterday
Bacolod Diocese Vicar General, Msgr. Ronald Quijano, joined Bishop Buzon at the altar alongside more than 40 priests. Hundreds of the faithful gathered at the cathedral to witness the closing rites.
The local ceremony coincided with the global conclusion of the Holy Year 2025, or Jubilee Year of Hope, which was inaugurated by Pope Francis on December 24, 2024. At the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV sealed the enormous bronze Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica to mark the occasion. During the preceding twelve months, nearly 30 million pilgrims had passed through that door seeking a plenary indulgence.

In the Diocese of Bacolod, seven Pilgrim Churches had been designated for visitation throughout the Jubilee Year.
Following the mass, Bishop Buzon blessed the newly constructed Diocesan Pastoral Center on the grounds of San Sebastian Cathedral.*
