Another severed right hand of still unidentified person was found again yesterday, this time at Zone 3 in Purok Ilang-Ilang, Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City.
Initial investigations of Police Station 3 disclosed that the mutilated human body part was placed in a transparent plastic bag, with a note written on a bond paper “Anthony ‘Tata’ Vistar pusher protector kawatan!!! Pang holdup imo ubra!!! Bulang pamore ah (pusher, protector, thief!!! You are into holdups!!! Cockfight some more).”
The plastic bag was discovered by tricycle driver Bonbon Jamandre.
Vistar, according to the police, is an intelligence operative of the Bacolod City Police Office, actively involved in the intensified campaign against illegal drugs and gambling.
PMaj. Armilyn Vargas, Police Station 3 chief, told reporters that the person who had written such a message may want to send a warning to the person concerned.
As of this time, Vargas said they cannot determine the owner of the hand, which had been chopped off.
In January this year, two severed hands were found in Brgy. Banago, while feet were also dumped on March 29 in Brgy. Villamonte, all in Bacolod City.
Mayor Alfredo Benitez yesterday sounded the alarm over the dumping of severed human body parts in different areas of Bacolod City.
“Whether the mutilation of the body parts happened outside of Bacolod or not, the fact that body parts have been left in the city is alarming,” Benitez said.
He called on the Philippine National Police for the immediate appointment of a new Bacolod City police chief, to address the security concerns of the city.*
