Dismissed cop nabbed for carnapping

A former personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), who was previously dismissed from the service, has been arrested due to a motorcycle theft incident in Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confirmed that the suspect, a 46-year-old married male and a former Police Officer 1, was apprehended on Wednesday.

Personnel of Police Station 9, in coordination with a security guard from DECA Homes Subdivision, located and arrested the individual at Block 117, Lot 11 of the subdivision.

The victim, identified as alias ‘Jofranz,’ 19, reported that his red and white Suzuki Raider FU motorcycle was stolen while parked in front of his residence in Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City.

Initial investigation revealed that the motorcycle was recovered in the suspect’s possession and was positively identified by the complainant.

Police investigation also revealed that the suspect has a history of carnapping in the Bacolod downtown area and a case of physical injury.

The suspect is now under the custody of PS9 as authorities prepare to file appropriate charges for the violation of the Anti-Carnapping Act.*
