Bacolod City Councilor Atty. Caesar Distrito has officially assumed the role of Acting Vice Mayor that started yesterday.
Distrito will serve in the capacity of the second-highest city official following a memorandum indicating that incumbent Vice Mayor Claudio Puentevella is currently on personal domestic travel.
“I was designated as the acting vice mayor starting on [Wednesday] and until his return although he did not mention until when,” Distrito said.
The memorandum states that Puentevella will be away from the office until his return.
As the highest-ranking councilor, Distrito will perform the duties and responsibilities of the Vice Mayor until Puentevella officially resumes his post.
Distrito will be leading the Sangguniang Panlungsod regular session today that was postponed last Wednesday after a suspension was declared in the government office due to the Intensity V earthquake.*
