
The De La Salle University collegiate men’s and women’s football teams held their training camp in Bacolod January 3-11, setting friendly matches at the Panaad Stadium against Negros Football Clubs, in partnership with the Abanse Negrense Sports Development Program.
On Wednesday the men’s team won against CHF Escalante with a 3-2 score line and women’s team dominated the Pontevedra FC booters, 11-1.
DLSU women’s team will be defending their UAAP title 3-peat as they charge towards Season 85, under coach Hans Peter Smith.
Among their ranks are Negrense talents MJ Villacin, Tenelyn Otom, Tejanee Marie Isulat, Christine Dale Pañares, Lyka Teves, Chenney Mae Dañoso and Pia Bolo.
Women’s matches start 6 a.m. while the men play starting 3:30 p.m. Football aficionados are welcome to support local teams as gate are open for public viewing.
Women’s matches include the teams of USLS, Cebu Elite, 6100, RONINS, Cebu Urduja and men’s teams are from USLS, UNOR, Sagay, Cadiz, STI-WNU, Pamplona de Bago FC.*
