Bacolod City Engineer’s Office is now awaiting the green light for a P2-million program of works dedicated to immediate repairs of the existing Bacolod dog pound.
City Engineer Loben Ceballos said the funding is earmarked for essential upgrades, including the installation of solar lighting, additional dog cages, and a new septic tank to improve the facility’s current conditions.
Meanwhile, the P10-million Bacolod City Veterinary Office and Animal Shelter Complex in Barangay 35 is currently pending preprocurement.
Ceballos said that more than 20 houses are expected to be affected by the upcoming construction of the main building.
He said that they are now conducting surveys for informal settlers to identify those who will be receiving notice to vacate.*
