Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla yesterday said that almost all members of the “attack team” responsible for the death of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo and eight others, have been accounted for.

This came after four more suspects called by Remulla as “major players” in the killing of Degamo, surrendered yesterday to the military.

Remulla said all the four suspects, as well as another one who also gave up during the weekend, are all former military personnel.

The four others, who were also captured in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, several hours after the mass shooting inside the residential compound of Gov. Degamo in Pamplona, Negros Oriental on March 4, are also ex-military personnel.

With the addition of four more surrenders, the government “almost [has] all the people there as part of the team that attacked [Degamo],” Remulla said.

“We’re still looking for three people more,” he added.

Remulla said that they will be turned over to the Department of Justice today.

“They arranged for their own surrender,” the DOJ chief said.

With the turnover of the four more suspects, Remulla said there would be eight suspects in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).*
