
The Department of Justice – Parole and Probation Administration, in partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BMP) 6, recently held an Info Art Exhibition at the Cyberzone, SM City-Iloilo, in connection with the celebration of the 30th National Correctional Consciousness Week (NaCoCoW).
The event was attended by DOJ-PPA Administrator Atty. Bienvenido Benitez Jr., and Jail Chief Superintendent Simeon Dolojo Jr., MPA, represented by JSupt. Ruth Estales, and assisted by the Regional Officer-In-Charge Grace Tomaro, and the incoming OIC-Assistant Regional Director Atty. Edgar Leyson Jr.
The exhibit features the various artworks of the probationers and parolees under the DOJ-PPA and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at the BJMP, poignant expressions of resilience and hope, showcasing the transformative power of creativity in the healing process.
The Info Art Exhibition showcased the shared commitment to promote empowerment of individuals on their journey toward reintegration, the value of partnerships in rehabilitation efforts, and increased public awareness of the correctional system, according to a statement issued by the DOJ-PPA.
The DOJ-PPA also honored local government chief executives in Panay Island, with retired Maj. Gen. Jon Aying, mayor of Sara, Iloilo, as among the honorees, for their support to programs and services of the DOJ-PPA Western Visayas.*
