The Department of Public Works and Highways-Bacolod Engineering District will be implementing temporary partial road closures in Bacolod City in connection with its various roads and drainage projects this year.
Bacolod District Engineer Jaime Javellana informed the city government of the temporary road closures that will affect some areas of the city in a letter dated May 2.
The roads that will be affected by the DPWH projects are B.S Aquino Drive from the corners of La Salle Avenue to Marapara Street covering the period Feb. 8 to Oct. 1; B.S. Aquino Drive from the corners of Mayon Street to Burgos Avenue covering Feb. 8 to July 8;
Lopez Jaena Street from the corners of B.S. Aquino Drive to Galo Street covering March 7 to Dec.11; and Hilado Street from the corners of B.S. Aquino Drive to Burgos Avenue covering the same period.
Javellana said their office will maintain close coordination with the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod and the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office for the proper management of traffic flow to avoid traffic congestion and minimize public inconvenience.
Their office would also like to relay to the commuting public their apology for the temporary inconvenience brought about by the construction/improvement of the roads and drainage system for the purpose of giving commuters better riding comfort and to help solve the flooding/drainage problem in Bacolod City, he added.*
