The Department of Public Works and Highways – Bacolod Engineering District issued an advisory to ensure the convenience of the traveling public during the MassKara Festival celebration in Bacolod City.
Cargo trucks and other vehicles heading north are strongly encouraged to use the Bacolod Negros Occidental Economic Highway (BANOCEH) from Barangay Sum-ag to its junction with the Bacolod-Silay Airport Sccess Road (BSAAR) in Talisay City.
This route is recommended to avoid the expected buildup of heavy traffic during the highlights of the MassKara Festival celebration from October 25 to 27.
Additionally, motorists can access two national roads via BANOCEH: the Bacolod-San Carlos Road (Alijis Road), and the Bacolod City Boundary Road (Burgos Extension).
Meanwhile, all vehicles will be banned from entering Circumferential Road fronting the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) from October 18 to 20.
The area between St. Francis Avenue and Megaworld’s The Upper East will be closed 7 p.m. to midnight starting Friday up to Sunday, to give way to revelers watching the MassKaravan and concert at the BCGC grounds Friday, and the Music Fest, featuring Piolo Pascual, Moira Dela Torre, Franco and TJ Monterde, among others, on Sunday.*
