A personal grudge and drugs are the two angles being looked into by the police in the death of a driver, who was shot by a gunman on a motorcycle at San Juan Street in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City, Friday night.

P/Capt. Leo Estopa, Station 2 chief, said yesterday they are exerting all efforts to establish the identities of the gunman, and his companion lookout, who was on another motorcycle.

The victim, identified as Eduardo Garcia, 48, of Barangay 2, was brought by a police patrol vehicle to the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital, but he was later declared dead by an attending physician, a police report said.

Investigation showed that Garcia was walking on his way home after buying barbeque when a gunman, on board a blue Raider motorcycle, shot him in the head with a firearm of an unknown caliber.

The hitman and a companion on a yellow Honda XRM motorcycle escaped after the incident, Estopa said.

Both motorcycles had no plate numbers, police records show.

The body of Garcia was brought to the Abe Funeral Homes.

His kin are asking for justice for his death.*
