The separate police operations on January 5 in Bacolod City and Silay City, Negros Occidental, led to the arrest of three drug suspects and the recovery of about P150,000 worth of suspected shabu.
PLt. Liberty Indiape, deputy spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office, reported yesterday the arrest of a drug suspect she identified as Great Austria, alias Love Love, during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday at Purok Malapitan in Brgy Alijis, Bacolod City.
Indiape said that the arrest of Austria, who is a Street Level Individual drug personality, yielded about 15 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P102,000 and P500 in marked money.
Another police operation at Sitio Dapdap in Brgy. Lantad, Silay City, Negros Occidental, also led to the apprehension of Rex Beñieves and Rosalie Fuentes and the recovery of seven grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P47,600 and P1,713 in cash, among other items.
The three arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail, pending the filing of charges against them for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
