The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the police said they dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested eight suspects during a buy-bust operation at Rigor Street in Brgy. 1 poblacion, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental Thursday.
The joint PDEA and San Carlos City police anti-drug operation also yielded 10 grams of suspected shabu, worth P68,000, dried marijuana leaves, P10,000 in buy-bust money, and drug paraphernalia.
Those arrested were identified by the police as Jonathan Palmares, who was the subject of the buy-bust operation, Olimpio Jacosalem Jr., Ruel Taghoy, Lisander Hugo, Raul Cose, Razel Opeña, Benjie Cantere, and Eljay Liala.
Mark Lee Mahinay was nabbed in another buy-bust operation, also on Thursday, in Purok Bolinao, Brgy. Zone 6, Cadiz City, that yielded 0.3 gram of suspected shabu, worth P2,040, P500 in marked money, and a .38 caliber revolver with two ammunition, the police said.*
