A buy-bust operation on February 24 in Brgy. 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, led to the discovery and dismantling of a suspected drug den that led to the arrest of eight suspects.
Nabbed during the buy-bust operation, which was a joint effort of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, San Carlos City Police Station, PNP Maritime Command, were Nova Rojas, Emmanuel Pepito, Jessie Caballero, Edmar Yap, Rosendo Suareng, Jonathan Artajo, Carl Niño Canoy and Ronald Esclibano.
PLt. Col. Jesus Mesahon, acting San Carlos City police chief, in his report submitted to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said that the subject of the buy-bust operation was Rojas. The operation yielded about 15 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P102,000 and P500 in marked money.
Mayor Renato Gustilo disclosed that the city government of San Carlos City is giving incentives to the police and their informants, for successful anti-drug operations.
Two days earlier, the police also seized about 50 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P340,000 from two arrested drug suspects at Purok Langis in Brgy.Banago, Bacolod City.
Nabbed were Rogie Jamelo, 46, and Marcelino Nicavera, 24.
